IsoTropic Networks upgrades to iDirect Evolution satellite network platform

IsoTropic Networks has now upgraded its global satellite network to the iDirect Evolution platform with iDX3.1 software. The upgrade allows IsoTropic to reduce its overall operating cost and open up opportunities for growth.

Specializing in satellite Internet services and iDirect host Network Operator (HNO) solutions, IsoTropic upgraded to Evolution make crucial improvements in efficiency, affordability, and scalability. IsoTropic will provide its reseller partners with an economical chance to fully control their own remotes.

IDirect’s iDX3.1 software integrates INFINITI and Evolution into a powerful and versatile platform that not only provides unmatched bandwidth efficiency with DVB/S2/ACM , but also offers a wide array of applications to choose from.

Evolution has built-in DVB-S2 with adaptive coding and modulation (ACM) technology that helps IsoTropic to cut down on its operating expenses by maximizing on the segmentation space. The new platform also allows users to switch between TDMA and SCPC depending on the dynamic bandwidth requirements.

Other key features of the iDX3.1 are a new compact and low-power Evolution X1 remote with optional IP67 weatherproof casting, a new 16-channel narrow-band license for the XLC-M line card, BUC and LNB bundle, and QoS enhancements for large scale network optimization.

The iDirect platform’s new features and hardware allows IsoTropic’s partners to support heavy duty networks and offer narrow-band services of their own without straining the existing infrastructure. IsoTropic will be able to take advantage of new revenue opportunities even as they enter new markets. It will also get to increase hub scalability and reduce the cost of ownership.
